Mama shared with us that we pray so much for God to come through. We even fast; however, when assignments come, we forget that every position is for his own benefit.
We pray so much for God to come through. We fast, when assignments come in, we tend to forget that every position is for his own good.
What shall we present to our master, shall we go before Him complaining?
Text
Luke 16:10-12
Unless you’re faithful with little, much won’t be supplied.
Areas requiring faithfulness; money, work, relationships l, preaching the gospel, life, children, etc.
The assignment is broad in a way that we can’t manage with our God. We need to call upon him who sent us the assignment.
God has called us to build Kingdom business or Kingdom related assignments.
Note: God has given us gifts. No assignment is small in the eyes of God. They all eventually become big with time.
David first led sheep before becoming King. It was a starting point. Don’t despise the day of humble beginning.
Note: Faithfulness in small things prepares us for greater things. Question. Am I faithful?
Why does God put us in charge?
1. To represent him Matt 5:16
2. To serve others Mk. 10:43-45
3. To accomplish his purpose. Est. 4:14 God has a purpose to be fulfilled.
What makes people fail after being put in charge?
1. Pride. 1 Sam.13:8-14 – We begin to see less of the need for God. We exalt the assignment more than the giver of the assignment. Saul did not heed to the instructions given him.
2. Greed. Naaman and Gehazi
3. Sin and compromise – we are never satisfied with what God has provided, so we compromise. Samson took for himself an enemy for a wife. He died with his enemies
4. Forgetting God,
Examples of those who made it, Paul, Daniel, Joseph, Jesus.
Philippians 2:5-11 – Made himself of no reputation.
How can we remain faithful to the assignment?
1. We stay close to God. John 15:5
2. Obey even in difficult times. Jesus obeys even into death.
3. Serve God with excellence. Col. 3:23
4. Guard your character.
5. Depend on the Holy Spirit.
6. Remember, we have an account to give. Matt. 25:21
